That's the first fly reel I ever got. It was either a b-day or Christmas present (can't remember anymore). It fishes pretty well, once you get used to it's quirks.

Went through all my rods and reels today and chucked out some of the junk I had sitting around. This is what I'm keeping from ultralight up to surf rigs. The 2 far left are "maybe " at the moment. 😁 Definitely need 1/2 more medium heavy or so rods and I don't think I will have to ever buy...

Was the mouth circular, or more like a fishes mouth. Lampreys have a circular mouth ringed with teeth.

Works for me. I dislike almost all mushrooms. I'll eat them occasionally as part of something else, but I prefer not to. Last time I found any I liked at all was at a grateful dead show in the 90's, but that's was an entirely different story. 😅

I have the s23 Ulta. Camera is great on it.

Nailed them last night. Boated a mix of about 20 browns/bows.

Well, I can catch trout I guess. 😃 Got out on Pine Creek last night and boated probably 20 or so between me and my buddy. Nice mix of browns and bows. Annoyed this smally into a hit too. Really fun on ultralight gear.

Picked up some hellgrammites at cabelas today. You never know when they'll start coming out up here. Also solved my rain/wind shell needs. Found this one on clearance for $51. Seems decent and they actually had sizes big enough I could get another layer underneath.

Same here, the clouds made it more visible without the glasses. I didn't go blind anyway. I've never been one to listen to wives tales about going blind doing anything....ANYTHING... 😁

Actually bought it Saturday on a clearance deal. 6'9" Fenwick techna light fast action. Catches creek chubs great, hopefully it'll do well on trout this year too. 🤨

I can't catch trout, but at least it wasn't a zero for the day. Now this is much more to my abilities. Catching some rays, Catching a buzz, just don't ask me to catch trout evidently.

I miss opening day with my dad too. He hasn't been able to go for a few years now do to health issues. Usually taking my daughter out helps, but she's got her own stuff to do now, so I'm flying solo this year. I'll stop by camp later with some of my friends and have a beer or 2.

Canceled my usual kyack adventure for the opener. There's some smaller streams I'm gonna try out tomorrow, but almost everything is completely blown out here. Sunday might be a little better, I'm still holding out hope for then.
