    I'd Hate to be Cheap

I take a senko off. If I'm fishing again soon I leave trailers on but if not I remove them. Most of the plactics I use have a lot of salt. I never cut off a jig/jighead with a plastic on it and but it back in the box. The hook will rust fast.

    Laker rig???

Its a Christmas Tree, or some call it a cowbell. Trolling item. Run a leader as long as you want. Attach a bait or lure of your choice. Never a big troller but my father and I got a decent amount of trout with that.

I'd say tree or very thick weeds. There are some suspended fish on the one or two pics. I agree with Boot the ducer doesnt look stable. That will give you weird readings.

I would guess the lower left corner is a bass, big perch ect. The rest is bait. This is a massive school, THOUSANDS bunched togrther. If you think the simulator mode is going to recreate actual views youre in for major disappoiment. Boat movement makes things look a little different. I learned a...

    Reading The Fishfinder

You will likely need to adjust for water depth. If youre fishing 12 feet then decide to go to 100 feet. Surface clutter is easy just dont make big change at once. Here are your "trees". Thats really a school of stripers You can see a big boulder they are hanging by.

    Take this lake apart

Shallow can be a realitve term. They spend most of their time very deep. 50 or more feet so 20 feet could be considerd shallow. I dont consider 20 feet shallow.

I doubt the lakers are ever shallow.

    Take this lake apart

Pretty generic and basic. I'd look for weeds too for bass and panfish. Mentions drifting herring so i'd guess there is an alewife population. Got to have some pelagic baitfish to support those trout. I agree with the spots A5 marked up. Maybe not for trout but everything else, I would poke my...

    Take this lake apart

Ok.. I'll play. You list a half dozen species. 1- What are you chasing? 2 When will you be fishing? Early spring/mid summer/fall??? 3 How big is this lake? (surface acerage) 4 Boat? . If from a boat is it gas / TM / row? 5 Is there a primary baitfish forage?

New water. What do you all do????

I look for shallow cover to start. Theres always fish in and near weeds. Laydowns, stumps, docks, pads ect. Next would be spending time staring at the graph. What fun . Many lakes are charted so reviewing those give you a head start. If I cant get them shallow I'd probably look for a...
