Walked that same stream from last week. Not as active but a perch, 6+ small Smallies, a Rainbow and 3 Brookies. Nothing on the fly, everything on small spinner baits. Then I escaped the heat.

Belmont is a nice lake honestly. Easy boat launch, set in farmlands. It has rocky shores in some areas and weedy in other. The back of the lake is shallower and loaded with perch. It has Smallies, largemouth, Bluegills, rock bass, pickerel, perch. Supposedly walleye but I have yet to catch one...

Here's another one for Don. Hit Belmont and did good with the usual pickerel, bass, blue gill and perch. All on the small side but none smaller than this one. Over achiever.

In short, I like Quantum Smoke or any of the mid to upper end Quantums fresh or salt. Some the cheap Quantums can be sketchy. You can't go wrong with Shimano either at any price point.

I like them but they are pricey. I've seen the electric trolling motor set ups too. It already takes a solid effort before launching. The boat is nice, everything is in. Launch and go.

There's a part of me that wants to sell the yak and get a 12-14' Jon but a wide one. My last outing destroyed my back. My first fish on a whopper plopper (which I don't care for) was an aggressive bluegill lol He looks super happy with his catch.

I fished Mauch Chunk twice and it was one of the nicer lakes I've been on. No weeds except the back part from what I remember.

Stopped at Goldsboro and it was a giant weed bed up front. I stopped at Tobyhanna state park and it wasn't much better. Another slow day with 3 Pickerel and this bass. Grinding through weeds these days.

So far I'm real happy with the charger. Almost as happy as the 70lb thrust trolling motor. What a game changer! Another slow day. Everywhere is weeds.

I was surprised to find at this price point they don't come with chargers. I also got one of those launch ropes you attach to your winch to make it easier. Oh yeah, can't forget a throwable flotation device in camo.

Thanks Don! I've seen the reports and it looks promising. Not far from home, once I get gas and stabilizer in the tank I think that's where I'm headed to break the new motor in.

Don't mind the awkward grip but this was 1 of 2 on Sat. I hit the Delaware Water Gap. The water was a bit muddy. I worked for 5 hours and got TWO Pickerel for my effort. (Both were 20+"). That is still a grind.

I agree. There were plenty of them too. Saw one around 10" and solid but extra spooky. No size to them but seeing their colors and knowing they aren't stocked makes it a nice change of pace.

My first fish in weeks, what a monster lol Soon my life on the water will return. It's a wild trout, had 2 others like it. They didn't care for flies but small shiny spinners and spoons got a lot of attention.
