Baitcaster with braid

How do you tie on braid to the spool of your bait caster.

I tie it to the backing

You can put a piece of electrical tape to the spool the tie it on or I use thick mono backing then braid.

Same here with tape. Electrical works. I tie the knot that is shown on the package which I believe is an Arbor knot?

LOL First time I used braided line I had a "braid ready" spool and a standard spool, I guess it didn't hit me right off, lol, I spooled up with the regular spool. Big channel cat on the Susquehanna, I kept tightening the drag, not working, lol, the spool of line was rotating on the smooth spool. Eventually landed the poor channel cat and figured things out.

Mono backing definitely
