I’ve transitioned away from cork It’s actually rough on the hands breaks down and gets dirty I’ve never treated my cork J leave the plastic on as long as it last

I hear ya. I did used to leave the plastic on it then I had one start to rot out cause the plastic wrap was trapping moisture in it.

On my custom stuff I’m using wood and the new Eva. I honestly live the Eva. It’s way nicer on your hands. I’m also not against carbon although that will get cold fake cork is great also. Cork is just annoying to me And I used to be a cork guy

Right now I have a love and hate thing going on for it. Building a big spey rod and might look at other handles for it.

Nope I’m kinda with trout and I’m a mechanic so no matter how much I try my rod handles are always nasty looking this stuff just doesn’t wash off

I would think the black foam gets just as dirty but it’s black so doesn’t show.
