Used to be my favorite holiday when still on the farm. Back I n the 60’s and 70’s we would do the morning milking and chores then the relatives came and we’d eat a marvelous spread then a couple hrs of pheasant hunting. Then the evening milking. The next day was bear season. For those that didn’t go people from church and relatives came from all over to “sight in their rifles for Monday morning buck season.
Since we had to milk twice a day we had to be home allot and we became the epicenter for all the outdoorsmen in our social circles of the time.
Didn’t t know then what we had…I do now and my Brother and wife runs the place as a venue. While I am not part of the work or the reward it great to see the place regularly in all its splendor.
Happy thanksgiving!
