That’s one I’ve never had great luck on except for gills anyway
I do good with it on skinny creeks. Nothing like Tunkhannock or Swatara. Places like Indiantown Run, Bachman, Becks.
If I see a riffle or a place that I think is too skinny to hold fish that's where I throw a hopper.
Don is right that later in the season is better than earlier but it's more about grasshoppers being out or having been out than the actual time of year. Sometimes in spring they'll respond to it after cicadas/locusts have hatched.
I could be wrong but i don't think I've ever caught a gill on it. Or anything besides trout for that matter.
