Second season for me. I'm upsizing though, to the larger size baits.
Since I’m fishing ultralight these baits help me scale to the smaller, lighter scale. Did especially well with the little two inch Crawler on Bass last year.
These baits are made of Elastec and stretch and wear well.
I had planned to try the small plastic minnows I have for Panfish early in the season. There is a certain time in March when the panfish begin chasing the bait with vigor and at Goldsboro this places them in shallow water. The water lightly boils and is a thing to see, miracle of mature, fun to fish. This year I hope to use the little 1 inch minnows (above) on a sibiki rig tipped with a half or less Crappy Nib. I just bet it will work well during these vigorous early season times.
Yeah, I know. You use them with a vertical motion in the ocean. Deep water. An A rig is pulled horizontally in fresh water, more shallow. So are you jigging them up and down or pulling them toward you?
