Salted minnows

A member on another site used strictly bluegill parts and he got me to do it as well. Works great. Catch small gills along the bank and put them in a bucket on board. 2 or 3 is plenty and one will often do it. Cut as needed in half one at a time. Put onto a 2-6/0 circle hook and sink it or suspend over rocks. Also catches pike.

Long ago I used them for trout. Single small hook with split shot, throw it in the current, it was effective.

Tried them a long time ago. Never had any luck. Did much better with live ones after grem and Don were bad influences on me.

2 turtles and this small cat. Don't think I'll be buying them again. I rather buy them live and whatever dies just keep in the freezer.

I used to slice shiners open and catch channels on them. Never had luck with salted anything, shiners, mealworms, waxies, tried quite a few of the preserved baits but gave up pretty quickly. I also don’t like to use frozen bait when fishing salt though so maybe it’s just me
