I will probably a 2oz snap weight running 25 feet before the weight and 15 to 18 after depending on mph

I’m starting to really like tying on jigs. Thinking put them on a jig with a big bead would work better helping keeping them down.

Basically a buck tail jig without the lead.old time favorite bucktails work good and I really like um for panfish.
I did send Sol some and some gator for fun. I’ve a hide tanned, a hide green/frozen, and if Lady Luck smiles this nuisance bear with the big white chevron will walk by soon. Sol/Mel, if you are getting low shoot me a note. I’m not on as much lately with hectic stuff but I try to keep a tab open on my phone. I’ll see a pm eventually or someone can text. I think all have my mobile.Hey! it just dawned on me. A number of you hunt. Melvin and Sol tie. If someone gets a Black bear this year send them a strip of the Hide. Hind Leg, Neck or both. This way they can tie nice hair big and panfish flies for us all.
Have PLENTY of tough old gator too lol. 13’ and an 11’. Could maybe make a jumbo spinner out of a hornback plate too!
Got a blonde Fox in freezer still too I think. Had it go out with power and lost some stuff but Fox was good. Think it’s still in bottom with bear hide/Skull. I keep a divider between skins and edibles for the Mrs’s. She doesn’t complain but I’m sure accidentally thawing a bear skull instead of a turkey on Thanksgiving would be an issue! Mostly it’s bulk freezer storage. We’ve 3 regular fridge freezers we use mostly.

I lost a freezer full of Duck, Pheasants and Geese when I was 16...taught me a lesson. Stunk!!!I did lose the snapper and mahi I shipped home from the gulf trip in the Keys

Bear made some nice flies. Gator I’m still not sure lol. A little thick and tried a fly but failed.
Have to be shaved probably. I have the big one going to get tanned as soon as they call. Will be clothing grade so more than half is shaved off thickness.
Fox I think I’m just saving tail but if it’s blonde longish hide is something someone wants I can see if it’s worth the effort. I have never fleshed. Lost a freezer prior with yotes and 17 coons Logan trapped with me. He moved on from trapping and I gave the high end trapping gear to DNR officer to mentor others. Should say I sold it all but charged very little and it was a haul. Gave some to my neighbor too. MB550s all tuned and Patriot DPs with cerakoting. Even had the springs and drags with springs. Plus the conibears with fancy stands for various heights. Only thing I caught in those was my hand
