The last few weeks, out of action, and unable to do anything but sit in front of the tube, I have watched a fair amount of professional fishing on the outdoor channel.

But generally, I am not a fan.

I like shows and videos where they show me how to do new things or to refine or correct things I already do. I have not really enjoyed watching guys with sponsor stickers all over them catch fish I'll never have a chance at in places I'll never go and not explain a damn thing.

Not too much. Local kid Jon Kelley is a first year Elite pro.Known him since he was about 10 years old fishing tourneys with his father. I'll probably watch a little due to him being there

I dislike everything about so called professional fishing. To me it’s a big infomercial With the goal to sell anglers every piece of fishing gear possibleand anglers fall for it hook line and sinker. I dont watch infomercial fishing, I don’t read infomercial fishing and I think even less of Youtube fisherman. I just go fish and let others spend a kings ransom on what the pros are hawking.

On the surface, I agree with everything that Bootfoot just said but underneath, I watch it all! I literally leave my tv on any bass tourney channel all weekend unless there are other sports I enjoy on. I also watch a ton of YouTube videos but not a lot from the pros, guess why, they’re pedaling something.

I don’t follow for the fandom or even personality of any angler in particular. I do however try to get a glance, if they show it! grrr of the bait they’re using, the method and the action they are imparting.

I tend to agree with bootfoot, but I'll admit to watching some of that stuff from time to time. I really like watching some of the smaller YouTube fishing channels more though. The guys that are just having fun and aren't really sponsored yet. You can learn some new stuff from them just as much and be sure it's not just to sell you something, they actually use it and like it so much they want to talk about it.

Lol. I make YouTube video. Hey if you don’t like that whatever. We all are different beings. You don’t have to like YouTubers. It’s fine

I almost agree with New Member Bootfoot. Fishing channels remind me of out of control football or hockey fans along with Nascar fans. out of control folks. Latimer is one of my all time favorite for his comparisons and explanations about gear. That said he is becoming more and more commercial in his approach. Love the family values part.

The mindset drives me crazy. You guys click on a guy you don’t like and

I hate YouTube is your answer. Your not being fair to the good ones or giving it a chance to be a tool that is valuable.

Yes I think that was the point. When I go online for fishing I go online to gain knowledge or to solve a question or problem but not to be entertained. I dislike watching people brag and fish. but I do like paging through YouTubes to get answers to my various quandary's. I rarely finish a Youtube as I like to page around and look for at least 2-3 other YouTube that agree. Then I have a consensus and I can more confidentially fish.
