I am slowly transitioning to Lews. Amazon had this custom speed spin for 45% off so it arrived on my bday. So far it looks like another quality Lew's reel, this will be my trout reel.

They are typically so light they stay near the surface even when retrieved slow. I do well within a foot of the surface or less. We fish shallow lake so it works most places we go. I/we need to start fishing deep because we struggle when we do go on deeper lakes.

I've caught everything on them. Bass, trout. Panfish and Pickerel. They key is to slow your retrieve WAY down. It makes them wobble more and getting bit goes way up.

Spoons aren't my go to but I've caught a lot of trout on them. How was Hidden? Was it weeded up?

The last few years they have done a great job with quality trout. They out did themselves this year, nothing but beasts.

We were fishing in it lol I don't mind the first snow and Christmas snow. After that no thanks.

Caught 4, all trophy fish. This pic doesn't do it any justice. Massive belly! Caught it on a 3 wt. which was a blast. Shiela hooked a few monsters as well. We needed that.

In better news for me and worse news for trout, tomorrow they stock and tomorrow I plan on destroying them because of it.

No instruments for me. I've never had the patience. We are exploring wood working. I'm kicking around the idea of building chicken coops over the Winter and Shiela doing seasonal craft stuff to keep us sane and maybe make a little money.

All jokes!! Those spots produce lots of panfish and as we found out this year, trout in small numbers in deep pockets and feeder creeks. Pickerel early and late season, Bass through out. I haven't pulled a beast LM yet but I think I will eventually. We would be happy to run into you there one day.
