Another few hours yesterday, beautiful out, took my first call from water with fish every cast and sun shining

He’s about 5’8” and 230 lbs for reference. He complained pics make fish look tiny. I think it’s a different issue of scale LOL

His tiger was 18” and must’ve been 5 lbs. pics failed it, freak holdover, 3 of them I’ve chased a second year now, and he catches it on his 5’ special and gob of poop colored powerbait, it’s a racket I swear, probably pays the owner to feed them powerbait paste or something.

Bro outdid me, freaking Joker, wife says when he smiles he almost looks like me too, not a chance, I’m got the brains and looks, those skipped him somehow, LOL

Guess I’m due to add a few, got out to Don’s Dock a couple hours, fished for an hour and BS’d another.

Tried from small beach but all holding tight up the wall, water was angry too but fish hungry, maybe tomorrow it’ll Drop some, gotta visit the lake too,

Pulling an angry fat 16–8” rainbow up into aye by leader was new, won’t do it again and only one didn’t slip hook. If I was meat fishing it’d be a little tolerable but not to try and release. Need a bucket on a rope or just wait on high water to recede, might put a better walk on wall vs a few...

Got a few from the Lehigh on my Corp health walk LOL, had to haul up a 15’ wall so release was ugly and knowing there me a few over 8 lbs I wanted to stay but couldn’t release fish off a wall, no pics taken

Going to have to find a 9’ or 9’6” St Croix Imperial 5wt this season if one existed. I struggled with accuracy but blame the soft action. The rod length seemed to get me into spots I’d have spooked before if I can get the precision down.

Not hard when every hole has 20-30 hungry trout in it. Just takes a bit of figuring on those tough holes and the ones I posted might be the easiest. It’s the real fast short skinny deep pocket water that is tough. I do know now 9’ let you hit pockets much more stealthily. Soft rods are the devil...

I do find good spinners and lures wading that though. I’ll get a pic of the IMPOSSIBLE tree I pull them out of. That one is sheer luck but going 3/4 on oversized stockies I played it off like I had otherworldly abilities last year LoL, confidence seems to make the difference some days.

A few boxes showed, Lazy Larry’s Secret Specials in a few sizes, Raven Specialist, Drennan Crystals to harass the PA trout. Have a Pinland I picked up pretty cheap inbound. Going to float the Lehigh and see how that works on pa trout.
