    Tulpehocken

Starts out by Myerstown, in Lebanon County. That's what feeds Lakeside Quarry there, and then on to Blue Marsh. I've heard the dam on the creek below Blue Marsh is good fishing but I have not been there. Then on the the Schuylkill. Stocked with trout at multiple points. Some holes hold year...

[Archived] What did you Buy Today?

Yeah, I just drive right down the ramp into the water until the bottom of the kayak is wet ;) I had to start using that technique because all of those damn boaters camped out on the ramp and cooking hotdogs for their 33 kids get pissy if you spend 5 minutes setting up there ;)

    Holding a fish

In fact, as I think about it, I try to take most pics while it is still on the hook, right before I remove it.

    Holding a fish

I kind of agree, especially for eaters. But if I am putting it back I'd like to not do any unnecessary damage during the photo op. I'd like it to get bigger and come back to take another picture for me. First do no harm. I usually hold most things vertically by the mouth. My second choice...

I like to listen to audio books and podcasts via my phone. I use wireless earbuds. Sometimes I do say "Where did that damn thing go?" But I know it hasn't gone far because I am still listening to it ;)

[Archived] What did you Catch Today?

Some more of these guys this past Sunday on the Swattie Also some sunfish, Cubs, fall fish. Lots of missed strikes and hookups that threw it before I could get them in too. More camera trouble. Finally took the phone out of the dry pouch and thank God I never dropped it. 7 hours on the...

    Lake trout

It's actually a shorter trip for us to go to Rochester than to Erie. Went up in 2019 before covid. Unfortunately the day we picked the weather sucked. Wife got her 'Puked on a boat' badge though ;)

Has it been that long? Those are the 'old' kayaks. I've had the ride for 5 or 6 years I think and the wife's moken is probably 2018.

We all need to meet somewhere!!!

I live among the Lebanese, a people that are full of baloney ;) But I often drive 1.5 to 2 hours for work and my in-laws are in Philthy, so a drive is not an issue for me. The schedule is the problem I have. hoping to change that soon, but right now I have 4 days off in a row every 2 weeks...

Strippers! Yeah baby! Years ago my wife got me a Berkeley portable line spooling station. It came with a line stripper that stowed in the middle of the base. Last year, I think, the batteries in the stripper exploded and ruined it. There is nothing more annoying than a messed up stripper...

I'm not familiar with that area or it's flow rates, but it sounds your looking for what the white water guys call a "creaker". They aren't as short as a "play boat" (the little stubby ones, designed for doing stationary tricks in water features), but they can handle rapids and flows that would...
