Nuts & Bolts Guy
I have not. While I will admit, I am fair weather angler, LOL cold aside, work has just been busy. I am hoping for this week.I hope you had time to try it now. And I’d like to know more about what you look for in a Ned rod. I’m not sure I’m in the same price category as you and A-5. But I’ve been looking at some of the cheaper Shimano’s for next year.
I have however ran Neds and Senkos on my 703c as a comparison which led me to choose this new 702c. The backbone and tip are just a little bit lighter and that tip will make casting light line a little nicer with less backlash.
For a Ned Rod, I am looking for a medium light to medium backbone and a fast tip. I don't want much give to the tip, if it is too spongey, you'll have a hard time feeling structure so I want it to be firm and bounce back quickly. The lighter the feel in hand, the better the sensitivity to feel bites. You will however pay dearly for that light and sensitive feel.
