Flashers

Don got me on flashers so being on a trolling kick does this contraption make sense to anyone I would prefer all silver but used what I had

I’ve made up some lures using multiple blades and they’ve never worked out. The front blades keeps the rest from spinning. Stupid physics.

That’s why I bent the wire if you zone in you will see it I got this one up to 1/2 oz my goal is to tie this in about 4 to 6 feet in front of my lure to give it the look of chasing bait fish the bends are the draw back. The wire I’m using will handle 10 plus pounds but 40 we’ll not so sure I don’t think a 10/12 pounder would straighten the bends as for actually breaking it 80 +. I’m going off the basic 1 oz of weight for 10 feet loosing 1/2 to 1 feet from blade lift I should be able to troll a 6 foot deep running crank bait at 10ft give or take depending on speed that’s the goal anyway

.67 oz that’s just about as heavy as I can go hopefully 5 ft added depth and some flash to any crank bait or spinner

Nice idea there with the bends. I'd be curious to see if they will all spin.

They're almost like a mini Christmas tree rig we trolled for trout on Harveys and Carey when I was a kid.

But these are inline. Weren't Christmas tree rigs spread like Alabama/Umbrella/Mackerel rigs?

No they a just long inline. Usually 4 -6 blades. Not for casting, strictly a trolling rig

Well tested the large 3 blade out and a blades do spin( if the speeds just right) first 2 blades spin very well # 3 is a little cranky I’m afraid that it’s not going to spin well at slower speeds going to mess with the blade sizes and see if that helps when #3 does kick in it pulls like a tractor this and a hard pulling crank bait is going to be like having a fish on before you do

Pretty much like most of my lures I use.

The main reason I’m messing with this stuff is to get it down and add some flash when I’m trolling I’m trying to be able to use shorter rods and not have a rig that’s 8 feet long the last version is about 8 inches with a 1oz egg sinker
