I picked up a fly rod and liked it. Then I bought and repaired an old push button reel and loved it. I realize that I still need a nice casting mid-sized spinning setup but from here on in most trout and bass fishing will be with spincast. Not because I think it’s better but rather because I like it. I like antique rods and reels of all types. So why am I saying this? Because in your travels within your communities, where I don’t often go you see these things at yard sales and walk right by them. I’m asking that if you see a zebco, Johnson, daiwa, Abu, pflueger, Heddon for sale at a swap meet, flea market or garage sale and they want only a few bucks then please grab it for me. Matching rods as well. In fly reels there only is one real fly real: medalists. I collect them as well. Lastly any drop dead lowball price on old French built Mitchell’s as well. I am cleaning, repairing and re/selling them after skimming one here or there.
