Markers for brush piles and fish

Anyone using marker buoys to mark brush piles and or schools of fish? I don’t have GPS and can’t mark very accurately.
Not sure I need this. One of my Russian buddies at Gouldsboro boro showed me how to use them but then they sit in his boat as he prefers to troll for Crappie and other panfish. To me, one whom likes large perch as well, I think marking and fishing brush piles will give me less Gills and more crappie and perch. What say thee?

Never used them. Doesn't that fish finder you were using have GPS? You can also zoom in on the map app on your phone and put markers. I did that with a lot of my favorite launch and take out spots on the creek.

My phone is used too much and will die in the sun. I can give it try but it will likely be too hard to see. Question is are phones that precice?
