Minnow rigs

After my last event and I forgot the crawlers in the fridge I had to run with minnows only so after realizing that minnow rigs are not worm rigs I made a few just for minnow rigs plan on running these in the in the 1 1/2 + range that should make a willow leaf blade spin size 1/0 long shank light wire hook

So how do you get the weight on it cause I tried that and again the blade never spun right.

My rig is approximately 4 to five feet long and attached to my main line by a swivel my weight is on my main line just above the swivel the length makes it almost impossible to cast I let line out as the boat is moving.A big thing is the clevis and blades most of these rigs use plastic clevis’s and deep cup(light) blades.Here’s a picture of a store bought rig.

Solo I’m adding hollow metal beads to my metal clevis’s and metal blades to help them spin from what I’m learning it’s metal to metal and plastic to plastic I working with what I have I’ll keep you posted how they work

Glass seemed to work a little better but takes a beating on the rocks. I’m thinking metal to metal works the best all I know is I give up.

Tried a few of my home built creations today with no issues was pretty happy with the way they worked I think the biggest thing is that if you’re using a metal clevis use at least 1 metal bead I generally use 2 if your using plastic beads or foam use a plastic clevis. I’m sure that after a while a metal clevis will ware the line but they don’t usually last that long after a few fish get the line out and reuse your parts.lol I didn’t say I caught fish.
