many of you know that DonM and I admire old mitchel reels. DonM likes 308s and 408s and is the primary go-to for his stream reels
I fish mostly lakes and so far I prefer mitchel 304 and Zebco/Langley 822 for beetle Spin and other small lures that like going slower.
We both have at least some of the newer equipment but I’m smitten by older stuff.
Today I got a mitchel 408. Internally like new. This was the smallest of the 1960’s reels and it is a high speed reel ( slow as todays reels though). I’m hoping to refurbish it and with some advice from Christian and DonM to keep me on the “straight and Narrow” I hope to fish it later this season.
