Is building hand wrapping rod tables there turning out very nice I think especially with just scrap pieces of wood
There’s actually 2 different models he’s trying to prefect his model the one with the rod on it is #1I built a simple one. Guarantee that one’s nicer
With a half wrap on one of the pegs for one spring loaded spool mount on the other he likes the half wrap betterLooks nice to me but not sure how he controls thread tension. I built a simple one as well. Next step will be to get one with a motor.
Mine it store brought, motor is the way to go leveling epoxy.Looks nice to me but not sure how he controls thread tension. I built a simple one as well. Next step will be to get one with a motor.
Nope all hand I think that’s kinda the point no power needed just time and persistent sYes and it has that antique feel which is wonderful.
It is intended to be a beginners step for folks learning to do make their own. Its how they were done and it has a certain charm. I want to learn epoxy though as it provides a more resilient product. I could make it without a motor but then I'd have to stay with it so long to manually rotate it.
Do you have the mud hole models?
Melvin does your friend use a turning motor on this?
Doesn’t it turn yellow. I’ve done some stuff and over the years it looks ugly. All my work has been with varnish only. Not poxy.
