Pa Trout Opener 2023

Finally got out trout fishing Monday and yesterday. Caught 10 Monday & 2 yesterday. Trout magnets were working for me 9 on trout magnets and 3 on slayers. None of the fish were anything to brag about. Stocking Pennypack today, I'll hit it later in the afternoon and 1st light tomorrow.

When I flyfish I often use an indicator. Do any of you use tiny bobbers when feeding worms to your little trouts?Ive not had any hits this year with trout magnets, inline spinners or tiny beetle spin. Thinking about using pieces of Crawler or Red Salmon eggs under an indicator on an 8 or 10 hook. The stream is very low and perfectly clear. Fish are plentiful but wary.

So they stocked Pennypack yesterday, The park ranger saw me down stream away from the crowd, he had 6 buckets in a 4 wheeler. He gave me 4 buckets to put in the hole, good to be nice and friendly while out and about. Oh 1 bucket had 3 nice size palominos. So after catching 25 or so, I kept 2 for dinner. Went back at 1st light today, and killed em lost track of how many in aan hour and a half Kept 5 today for my daughter. Never switched bait, all on 2" Gulp alive worms.

I would use some sort of indicator. If it’s a very shallow creek and clear the smallest float you got so you don’t spook them. Plus they bite lightly so as soon as you see it stop hook as fast as you can.

I use to fish them like a trout magnet, twich jig and slow retrieve. Found they hit hit them better constant jigging the tip of the rod and a faster retrieve.

I'll do it both ways until I get catching them. Now Don Perhaps you can explain to us all just how it is that you have fish delivered...If that ain't a Gremcat I don't know what is, Darn

I've been fishing Lorimer park for years (I know you know where that is Don). I alway take the time to chat with them, and they see me picking up trash. He just saw me and said here have a ball, he know I fish with two other old guys. It neve r gets stocked in that hole, but it's a deep one and fish make their way there.
