What size hook? Last time I fished the local creek I had a very small grey scud attached to my wading boot. Tiny fresh water shrimp are supposedly in the creek as well. I was thinking of trying a tiny hair's ear but haven't been back since.
These are size 12 pretty big compared to what you saw but I think I can shrink them down to a size 14 maybe 16 get a real picture if you can they live pretty much in every body of water including lakes and ponds

Very nice job on that scud or whatever u call it.
Hey when I finally keep my word and drop by remind me to give you one or two of the hooks below. I bet a weedless Anthracite Weevil could be tied onto that.

I know those small ones work great but when I can’t tie it on my line why even tie them. Good job on it.

I understand that. My eyes are shot.
Same problems here. Eyes were never good and fingers have lost a lot of sensitivity. I used to be able to tie isolation gown straps behind my head with no problem. Now if I don't get it in 3 tries I do it in front and then put it over. And those things are huge compared to flies and line. 6lb line is as about as small as I can handle now, and it will probably be 8lb in a couple of years.
