    Lake Erie steelhead

Rainbow trout and steelhead are the same thing. The difference is do they spend their whole life in small water or go to big water and come back to small water. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rainbow_trout

    Baitcasters

With spinning gear I always find a long rod to be a pain the ass. They always seem to be in the way, unusable around foliage, and difficult when seated in the yak. They also always seem to be the cause of or at least part of some kind of problem. Are long casting rods different than long...

    Lake Erie steelhead

They all look great but I have to say I love that last pic. I would frame that and hang it on a wall.

    Getting ready for WNY

I don't know if a salmon will fit up there with his head already taking up the space........but you could beat him with it.

In PA that would be a good way to get shot.

    American Made

Yeah that was the post Bretton Woods thing; tie all the currencies together and use the dollar to back all the others. Back the dollar with promises and IOUs and cobwebs. We will all crash together unless someone is smart enough to get out first. Saddam and Qaddafi were both going to do oil...

This should be hilarious - Going Tuna Fishing

Good luck I always thought the tuna species were starkist, bumble bee, and chicken of the sea ;)

    Rig Styles

If I could remember them I would try them. Hell, I can't even get beyond the improved clinch knot. I have tried many times to learn others but just can't make them work. I have a pair of shoe laces in my backpack to practice the Rapala knot in between rounds at work, but I always forget...

    Hooks for Esox

Interesting. I always kept it high and didn't lose any more of them than anything else. A few years back I was hauling them in at Memorial on Zoom Super Flukes on an offset hook.

We all hate politics but we ignore it at our peril.

What kind of rod holders are people using here

I like Sea Dogs for flush mounts and Scotty (cabelas, Bass Pro same thing) for ones that stick up. I see both on regular boats all the time.

Yeah, what Uncle Mel said. If one thing isn't working pull out another idea and give it a try.

    Blue Marsh

Dammit! I have wanted to catch walleye for ages. I would keep legal walleye, at least once or twice as we want to try them. I guess now I have to go back. I would probably launch at Sheidy or the North paddle launch next time if I am by myself. Hopefully that would keep me far enough...

    Blue Marsh

I scouted all the launches Sunday and fished yesterday. Took the Ride 135 for the stability. Launched at the Peacock Road creek launch. It was barely enough water for me, and way too many low hanging trees. A lady I met when leaving told me they will draw down the lake soon and this launch...

    Harveys Lake

From the alewife section of the Fish and Boat commission page It has become established in all the Great Lakes, including the Pennsylvania portion of Lake Erie. It was first reported in Lake Ontario in the 1870s, there either by accidental introduction or by making its way through water routes...
