I had to update all my fishing gear to very heavy stuff not for the fight of the fish but to handle your big couple ounces lures. Yes your body feels it.

I really never tried it so I guess you’ll have to play around with it. But I do think a hook with a straight eye is better. I would go size 6 and try every thing in between to size 2 hooks. Offset eyes might make it swim funny cause the hook movement and angle it will sit at. Just a thought...

Lol. Ya I got some big ones around 10in they do work for them. Buck tail style works the best. It just seems certain times are better to use them. Swimbaits are what have been working great all year. Line thru trout in 10” or 12”.

Made a couple but never got into them.

Looks like you might loose some action in the lure. I’m guessing that’s why it’s always tied to the hook. Never hurts trying it.

Sometimes a fishy eyes are to big for what they can handle. I've caught some small bass on some big lures not that big. I get some monsters that follow or come out of their hiding spots and look at my big 10" muskie lures. Never a taker but they look over 20" Mark.

As you know I'm not organized at all. When I'm done fishing any lure I let it sit out for at least a day or throw them in my backpack.

The only spoons I had luck was with a small gold or silver kastmaster. Fishing for trout. Tried them again and never caught anything.

When it gets closer to opening I’ll be switching. Right now I dusted off the vise and got some deer hair minns spun up.
