It doesn’t bother me if they keep the fish, home and actually eat them. It’s the ones that say I gotta fill my freezer and two or three years later they come across it and throw it away in the trash. With like 20 other fish.

Only thing that makes them wild is they're stocked as fingerlings and they swim out in the lake for a couple years. Very edible. Done right they taste pretty good.

Trout in Erie.

I was fishing Erie PA Don. There’s still good numbers up the creeks gotta find the holes with less fishermen. So trout will still be there all the way till end of March then they’ll start to swim out when the waters turn warm. No salmon on PA side (Erie) they stopped stocking them. As for NY...

Never tried the knot. I’ve dried the skein out so it stays on a little better. As for eggs I make egg sacs out of them. Smaller the better

As for line I usually run around with 10lb but I’ve used 30lb braid on it also.

I’ve done both with it shore and boat/kayak fish.

Nothing works better than a 9ft. Bigger rods bigger bend.

The store salmon isn’t bad. As for stocked trout find where a club stocked them. They get better feed.

Warmwater species are getting sluggish trout thrive in this water. The fish commission is doing their fall/winter stockings of trout right now. They usually don’t swim that far when they are first stocked. Perch should be biting.
