The deep spot is in the back. It's shallow all around it and just drops off. Holds the trout when stocked. I've thrown at it so many times I could find it blind from the shore but you need 1/4 ounce and 4 lb test.
Definitely Bluegills and Crappie. Perch I don't know, if so I haven't caught...
Pair of decent Bass pulled out of Shohola. I had another small one and 10+ Pickerel. Tons on and off too. This was from Friday. Fishing is a back burner passion at the moment. I'm hoping to rededicate myself once some projects are complete and we find a car for the Son. No more moving or big...
I know that lake real well. There is a deep hole in the back part of the lake (restrooms in the parking lot side). It has sizeable everything. My 2nd best Pickerel at 26.5" came out of there. It's really best suited for kayak fishing. I like the back part and the middle towards the cove/island...
We had 4 dogs but within the last year we lost the 2 King Charles Cavaliers, they are a great breed. They were Pixie and Gizmo. The Boxer is Ace and wacko toasting his under carriage is Cooper. He is part Beagle part Bulldog.
Henrietta disappeared for a while, we figured a predator got her. Instead she came home with 10 babies that we now have in the brooder. We just might need more names!
Our outdoor pets: the deer we named Hope and her baby is Faith. The chickens: Raven, Penny, Lola, Nala, Stormy, Willow, Henrietta and the roosters Duke and Dusty.
Yeah the draw down is huge. There is a cove that lights up like crazy on the fish finder with crappie or what I assume is, because that is what we caught in that location.
It has been tough fishing there but we don't use bait and we fish shallow lakes mostly. I can still remember seeing half a...
Keitechs are great but like you said they rip way easy. We keep a rotating stock of various plastics and scoop up everything we find cheap at yard sales. On a good day we are tossing a handful of spent plastics BUT if so we had a great day. I'll take that trade off.
Try Mister Twister fat...
We have had 3-4 confirmed cases in the last few weeks. Vaccinated or not it feels like I'm just waiting for my turn in all of it. I was against vaccination but I didn't want to wear a mask in 90+ degree heat. We have been wearing the mask again so that didn't work out well.
Hope it all works...
It's a big lake, plenty of open water. We cruise the shorelines. If you like Pickerel find the shallows and you'll find them. Plenty of Bass, always Eagles every trip. Good Crappie, Bluegills. We only ever fish 1/4 of Shohola. One day we are going to get to the other side and fish our way back...
Beetlespins work on a lot of species. Not great on weeds though. Everything today was plastic worms hooked weedless. You lose a few but at least you can drag through slop.
As soon as the weekenders vacate Wallenpaupack we want to give that a go. We are expecting a learning curve for sure...
We hit Shohola early to avoid the rain but we fished in it anyway (timing means everything and I have none of it). Slower day but I managed this 16" LM, a Crappie and a decent amount of Pickerel. I had one bite that slammed me but got away. Shiela had a Bluegill and some Pickerel. OK outing...
Sorry we couldn't make it. We will meet up soon here at one of local lakes as soon as life settles down here. It's been so crazy fishing has been an inconvenience more so than a passion. That's going to change.
We hit Shohola yesterday. Water levels were WAY up and fishing was solid. I probably had 10 Bass, 15 Pickerel and this Crappie. We both had a ton of swing and misses and chewed off tails. We don't know if we will get any more fishing in from a boat this weekend so I'm thankful we had a good day.
Unfortunately we will have to meet up a different time. We have family in for the balance of the weekend and can't pull away. Enjoy and we will see you guys sooner rather than later.
We will see if we can make it weather depending. Last time I was there it was weeded up. Very kayak friendly, boats not as much until the weeds die off up front.
