    It’s mushroom season again

God I hope that catfish was caught north of Harrisburg............. Of course the ones around 3 mile island are sterile and safe to eat, as long as you don't have a Geiger counter ;)

    Next venture

Love slip bobbers. I rarely use a traditional bobber. If I am fishing a bobber it's almost always a slip. Slip bobbers are one way to quickly figure out the depth. Now that I am working on minnows I need to try a minnow under one.

    Pet Thread

Jello and Star. They aren't normally this friendly with each other. Mango, in the bubble backpack, and Jello on the floor. Mango isn't normally this sedate, and Jello isn't normally this active ;) We got Jello from Monica's bother and his, at the time not yet, ex wife. She swore up...

[Archived] What did you Catch Today?

Next time. But even then, as excited as he gets to go I would hate to have him left behind on my account. Especially if he will bite A-5 ;)

Can I keep the dog? He seemed like a really nice dog.

    Spinners and stickballs

No, I'm not a DR, just a Respiratory Terrorist, um, therapist. And don't try to promote me! I don't need all that responsibility, I have more than I can handle now ;) It's not rocket surgery, or brain science. You can try a bunch of different presentations with one bait to see what the fish...

Love those weighted hooks for plastics if you need to get down a bit.

    Spinners and stickballs

I catch more fish on size 3 to 7 Rapalas in rainbow pattern than any other thing I have ever tried. Rainbows are stocked all over PA as fngerlings as well as adult trout, so every piscivorous fish in PA waters thinks of ther color pattern as food. You want a reel with a fast retrieve. As TS...

[Archived] What did you Catch Today?

I caught this boat at Memorial Lake yesterday. I think it's too small. Probably should throw it back. What's the legal length for drift boats? ;) Due to changes in availability Don and I dropped Sunday and met at Memorial yesterday morning. It was a slow day for esteemed and august...

    The new toy

I see how this goes. A mechanic gets a boat and it's all boat pics. No fish. ;) Looking good. You guys are really making a fishing boat out of it.

[Archived] What did you Buy Today?

Nice. I love the no tie laces. I've put them on my last couple of pairs of regular shoes.

    Leftovers

Well, she came home today but we still have no idea what her actual problem is. They did a renal artery cath Wednesday and were supposed to balloon and/or stent it but decided it wasn't bad enough. They saw something while doing that that made them think she needed a cardiac cath, so they did...

    Line and bite tippet

I've seen old line with a lot of memory do that on spinning reels. Me and spincasters don't always get along. Using a much heavier line as a bite tippet is an old practice that both Zane Grey and Nick Lyons have mentioned. That means it dates back to at least the 1920s and was still being...

    Bait Holder Hooks

We used to use a lot of Eagle Claw pre snelled bait holder hooks in sizes from 2 down to 12. Size 6-8 is as small as I can really handle any more. Small sunfish will consistently steal bait from a 6 or 8, but will swallow a 10 or 12. It was always a choice between feeding fish or injuring...

[Archived] What did you Catch Today?

Yeah, these were trees just touching the water. The ones after the dam are right in line with the chute, which seems like they should be trimmed back. I did a lot of hard paddling to avoid real lay downs and strainers. I may be dumb, but I ain't stupid ;)

[Archived] What did you Catch Today?

I thought that at first. I used to leash everything in the red Pelican. Once I moved up to the Ride it didn't seem to be necessary anymore, but I still put pad eye next to all of my flush mounts. I think it would have been bad here though. If the 2nd lost rod had been leashed it might have...
