Since it didn't work I just took it apart. I had a lot of fails doing it.

The last time I tried that the blade never would spin.

Bending the wire works for the clevis but doesn’t spin as good as a easy spin clevis.

The floaters let swim deep and pause to float a couple casts. The sinkers run high and let fall a couple casts. Hold on and keep line tight.

What size clevis and blade are you running on that.

Think Melvin right some double blades and some kind of dress on a hook. Silver and gold think would be my go to colors. Then some kind of blue or green skirt.

I would never ever buy that line. Trilene xl smooth has to be the worst line I’ve ever used.

Looks like if you go with something like these they just slide on.

I’d run probably around a 20lb mono main line. Then run lighter leaders starting at 10lb and work up if it’s not working out.

Your leader should always be lighter than main line so it breaks at the leader. There are certain times you can run heavier. Like TS mention. For just straight line it will snap at the weakest point in the line. I had funny things like line getting caught in guides and snap with 10 feet of...

Heavy rod 80lb braid. With pike I would run a steel leader. That’s an overkill for both.
