From what I hear is they will come up to hit. Mostly on shelf’s or nice drop offs.

I got a buddy who tips everything with live bait. Even on a fly with a little wax worm. It works not sure if it is scent or just a fish thinking two meals in one.
You usually tip a jig with any lure or bait. You can try it plain I'm sure it will work on some fish. Try it out then you can tell us how good it worked.
Now we are into scents. Don’t need them haha. You could do a bunch of stuff in that department. You can drive yourself nuts with it. Anise oils, wd40, make your own, buy a bottle, crush up some fish eggs, get some dirt out of the water rub it on.
