Im not boat fishing for them. Most of the time it’s on shore and I only have to cast 10feet at the most. It gets harder when further to roll so. What I do is cast a short cast behind me and let the fly sit in the water then use the water and weight of the fly to cast forward.

Looks like it blends in pretty good.

I hear ya don sometimes my musky flies are to heavy for my 8wt and it feels like I’m throwing my arm out of its socket haha.

When the fly is heavier you really gotta put some muscle behind it. The heavier the more faster your cast becomes.

So this is what you catch when it’s overcast. Plus high and slightly colored waters.

I’ve done the roll cast and let the current just push the fly into the bank. They seem to get it when the line straightens up.

Used to go get a couple small buckets full. Kept them for week. Then they would be gone after a hard days fishing. Now I’ll get them out of the garden. Dig about a dozen up.

Get a glass full of water and try I bet they sink.

They look good but take the wire off and substitute it to something more waterproof. Looks like you’ll be using some floatant on them.

I sure would put that shiner on a hook and back into the waters.

It’ll make good fertilizer for your flower garden.

I wouldn’t eat it. I’ve caught fish that had black spots all over them on the outside.

Looks like a perfect car to me. Can’t stand lifting the yak on the town and country.
