Looks like pretty much every big game rod I look at had them on. Don’t think it would get much use musky fishing since your holding the line with the other hand playing tug of war but I could be wrong.

Question why do you need a butt on a fly rod. Mine has one and I never use it. I can see two handed casts. Also they can be great for spin or centerpin but a fly rod that's fast action.

Anything that causes noise on the surface at night works great. I do good with walk the dog lures and poppers.

Kinda need open water for these. Weeds will slow or stop the blade from spinning and think that’s what gets them. No depth on them all topwater. That’s what makes them buzz.

The weather came lol. Boy I wanted some rain and in two days about in a hr a day not even. We get flooded out. Couldn’t even see to drive. Guessing the fish are happy.

Got the cast down pack but it’s the setting the hook then keeping them on.

Don there’s all kinds of styles on casting. A smaller fly can take a pause on a back cast as a bigger fly make take two or three pauses. Also if you wanna throw a little bigger fly on smaller gear than learn a backcast that will work for you. Your fly dries out on a cast so instead of...

It’s a fun place to just visit. I don’t care for heights either so you won’t catch me out on that thing :) The old tornado path is still there but filling in pretty good.

When it looks that good every thing is difficult. I would say skills are needed.

Glad I got some fishing in when I did the water is sure warming up quick with this hot sunny days. A lot of walleye still being caught in the shallows but they move to deeper waters soon. Some crazy weather it has been so far. Already starting to get to hot to fish.

This is the time those trout nuts would say leave the trout alone but I say rescue those fish and take them home for the dinner plate.

With a current they will get waterlogged and sink quicker.
