They say walleyes have big eyes for a reason and that’s to hunt at nite with no lights. You’ll scare walleyes away from what I hear. That’s why in summer the deeper they go. Plus the water gets to hot for them. Don most people who use lights are saltwater not really fresh waters.

That’s why wide gap hooks work great for this but the only problem is they take more weight to flip. I’ve noticed that even tying to much material around the hook point can also stop a good hookup.

It’s a very strong current at times. But I’m not fishing in the current. I fish where it begins the slack waters on the edge. Sometimes it creates something like a little whirlpool. They lay right in those rocks waiting for the baitfish to wash in.
