New water. What do you all do????

Was up in Wilkes Barre for job #2 today. I drive all over the eastern half of PA for them and notice lots of interesting looking water. One day when I have the time I'd like to drive around and just check out whatever weird or interesting little creeks, lakes, and ponds I find.

    Trout season 2022

Burrrr. your reminding me of a few years back when we went to Assateague in early April. After that we decided never to go anyplace like that before May ;) Looks like a lot of fun, and beautiful scenery.

    The new toy

Very nice. If you two weren't mechanically inclined would you have been happy with it the way it was, or would have wanted to spend money to fix it up?

New water. What do you all do????

I'm the opposite. I love new water. Even if I have not figured out a lake to the degree Don does, I still get bored with the same old same old. I guess that's why I love creeks. Every inch is new every time and the next big rain will change everything again. Yep. 100%.

New water. What do you all do????

Research online. Ask friends, including the folks here, know anything about it ;) Those two things are usually enough. For example before I ever hit Sweet Arrow I had a pretty good idea of what was there, and where to find what. Still couldn't catch most of it, but I knew where it was. Also...

There is a reality, and certain actions within it are more functional than other potential actions in achieving success in nature. As a result fish, and wild animals in general, do not subscribe to the necessary post modern philosophies required to participate in human civilization in Ory-gone...

I posted the link about the California trout slam. Pack them in dry ice and ship them to the wife. I used to work with a guy, another snot sucker like myself. Cory. He was from outside of Pittsburgh somewhere and came out here because the worst facilities pay better. In a previous life he...

This weeks tackle talk rubber worms or plastic worms?

Allow me to assist ;) Rereading this thread and others made me realize a few things. You can jerk your crank. You can also crank your jerk. We all know worms are soft, creatures are soft, and cranks and jerks are hard. But craws can be hard or soft, so they are trans. Now you can jerk or...

    I hate you Crankbait!

Yeah, I have thought that for a long time about all fish. One time I forgot my plastics so I started putting flowers picked from the bushes around me on jigs and was catching fish just fine.

There is usually a flap on top of the box with the hole to hang the package from. It is usually on that flap. But Lupo is right.

    Rods weaken overtime

We all know you don't use rods. You have so many kids you just throw them in and have them grab fish ;)

[Archived] What did you Catch Today?

Would love to go in on something like this, but September is pretty shaky for me schedule wise. I have 2 weekends off but one is the wife's birthday. We think the other full timer at my full time job is getting fired, an I may be working 4 12 hours shifts a week instead of 3. My 4 day...
