I would have to say what are you fishing for but I know you are going for them small fish so any cheap line will work. If going for big fish i would recommend the expensive line as I'm going to get it for them bigger fish. This cheap cabelas line sucks.

I use the trilene knot for everything even joining line together.

Maybe try running the line threw worm and add hook at end.

From what I've read mono is more visible as it refract light and floro let's light threw as it isn't as visible. From what a lot complains are is tying knots on floro as for strength they are the same. Like you said but the thing is running a leader is that it can be a thicker line than running...

I would have to disagree with floro not being tougher then mono. But than again I've really never used it. Just from what I read from other pros who musky fish swear more on those floro leaders. So all I can do is try and go from there.

I find some good prices on ebay. Might wanna see if you can find someone who makes them.

I run a steel leader but think I'm going to florocarbon for muskie. Don I had one cut 80lb braid like it was nothing and i can barely cut it with a sharp knife. The one I run 20lb mono on it holds up great to their weight but still does not stand up to their teeth. So not sure what I going to do...

Below the dam. Yesterday caught a nice smallmouth on the fly. Big muskie on once again my fly line snapped. Today nothing just a couple follows. Can't believe the size of the smallmouth in the creek. Some of the biggest I've seen for PA.
