    Ice update

All lakes are BUSY with yakers. Best fishing early and late. BIG lures get big fish. Redman has HUGE stripers in it. 40-50# Know guys tossing 10+ Oz lures. Lot of bass and panfish to be had. Creeks into lake have trout. Occasionally get one in the lake.

    Knock offs

Got those same lures. They DO in fact catch fish. Well, on the Susky at least... walleye and smallies. Though I have caught fish with a rock tied to my line on the same places!

    Ice update

Still on the ice down here in southern end of the state Redman, Codorus, Pinchot. Back west still nearly a foot. Rain melted all snow making drags better. Stream inlets opened up and refroze with single digit to below 0 temps last few nights.

    Fishing rods

Each have their own time and place. However, BIG difference in feel/action/power of exact rods 1 VS 2 pieces. At least my HMGs were that way. 6'6" and 7'

    Knock offs

I loaded up my boys tackle bag with a bunch of these types of lures. Whopper Plopper knockoffs for around 2$ a piece! It hurts a lot less when he sends one sailing out into the middle of the river after forgetting to open the bail!

    Ice update

Lake we primarily fish through the ice has a maximum depth of 32' at the dam. Have fished there and caught a variety of fish. No great numbers but eventful. Our hottest spot for nearly 40 years running has been a shallow flat that is choked with weeds in summer. Holes run from 1-8 feet. The...

This weeks tackle talk where do you buy your gear?

I hunt ebay for my needs. Ordered a literal boatload from thw last seller A-5 listed above. Only hit BP as I am driving by and need a quick lure or line replacement. Never a destination I plan for. Down south here along the river is an amazing tackle shop in Columbia. Susquehanna Bait and...

Covid positive but my exemption was accepted

Best of luck. Down here Wellspan is now mandating WORKING when testing POSITIVE! Though if you get the 'JABs' and have a reaction, they will cover up to 14 days of leave before a reevaluation. So everyone being admitted or having babies or elective surgeries will be tested... elective surgery...

    Bass fishing

Any time I'm able to fish the river and its not high and muddy I prefer throwing a walk the dog action lure. My newest go to is River2Sea Rover.

    Attractants

My uncles and dads friends that were in Vietnam used to say the best scent or attractant was the insect repellent supplied to the GIs by the government!

    Only Crappie

Pymatuning has a very healthy population of LARGE slabs. We do not target them specifically but have gotten numerous 18-20" Crappie while chasing Walleye

    Deer season

My boy and I doubled up a few minutes apart on Friday. Thanks to the legwork of some great guys we got overrun with animals and he was able to get his first deer! During the hugs and high fives my deer came sneaking down the hillside thicket. Good day. Great memories!

    Deer season

No deer over 3 days for us. Buddy got this 220# bear Saturday evening. Fresh snow had us chasing them around Sunday and Monday. Couple other sightings but no shoot opportunities

    Deer season

It's looking pretty bleak on our stomping grounds. Good many big buck on camera but little sign of deer otherwise. Walked 9.3 miles today and seen 2 tails and few tracks in the snow. Anymore, i just enjoy being out in nature and solitude. Catch a few ZZZs, possibly see some animals, help...
