My brother-in-law and I went to Manasquan inlet again yesterday. Fished about 4 1/2 hours. I caught 11 he caught 5, didn't even have to gring out the tape measure (all shorts). He did have what I think was a ray, that spooled 1/2 his line. Hope to get one more trip in this season.

If you have fluoresent lighting that is horizontal, to your build. The light will a straight beam of light down your blank.

Well come November I will welcome my 4th grand-child. As of now 1 girl & 2 boys, non of which like fishing. My daughter who fishes with me whenever she can, is having a baby boy. Hopefully Zane will be my future fishing bud. Other wise the daughter gets left a whole lot of fishing related stuff...

Never never have I like spincasters!!! All my freshwater fishing is done with ols school Mitchell's. I like to see any line problems, right in front of me. And they cast with the best of reels now & then.

What size split shots does the mold make. And are they the kind to reopen. They working out ok for you? Can you show the molds you have? I only have an egg sinker mold does 2 - 2- 1 1/2 - 1 - 3/4 - 1/2 - 3/8 _1/4 - 1/8 .oz

Nice Job!! I have some othe pieces of blanks somewhere. I trash picked a broken saltwater rod last time out, It's going to make a good reamer. I can't seem use masking tape to hole guides, so I bought bands from Mudhole now no worries. I even test cast with little weight before wrapping.

Guess I would use 3/8 to 1/2 oz. Fishing the inlet tides I'd still weight from the braid. Buying on it would proably be the top oneIf someone was close I'd trade lead for the use of a mold.
